Freefrom food coverage on BBC Radio 4, Listen live Quick!

FreeFrom Food is definitely the flavour of the month with Radio 4’s Food Programme dedicating a full programme to the growth in the market on Sunday 18th March at 12.30pm (repeated on Monday at 3.30pm) and BBC 1’s Breakfast running a feature on FreeFrom food on Monday morning (6.20am, 7.20am & 8.20am) to complement the Food Programme’s coverage.

The FreeFrom Food Awards featured in both.

Food writer, editor of the FoodsMatter websites an founder of the awards (now in their fifth year), Michelle Berriedale-Johnson was interviewed for both programmes. With more experience of freefrom food than almost anyone else in the business (she launched her first ‘freefrom’ food in 1989…) she explains how the demand for freefrom food has grown – and how she sees it taking over the world!!

Sheila and Michelle sample some of the amazing foods entered in the Freefrom Food Awards and the Mmmms and Oooohhhhhs were really funny. For instance, how can cheesy kale chips be cheese and dairy free? Yeast helps make them cheesy. You have to listen to find out what I’m talking about.

Go Michelle! I thought you sounded very knowledgeable and came across really well. Very good programme on the whole. Very well balanced and very interesting. Great to hear such sensible coverage on freefrom food.

Did you hear or see the coverage? What did you think?
