An invitation to a FreeFrom Christmas Day Dinner

We still have places available for our Christmas Day Dinner – all free from and organic – at the Black Horse Standlake on the A415 between Abingdon and Witney. We have wonderful roaring fires and wonderful organic wines and freefrom beers and spirits to accompany.

Please arrive at Midday

Welcome Drink and canapes on arrival – 1pm guests take their seats

Choice of Starters

  • Jerusalem Artichoke and Haricot Bean Soup with Porcini Mushrooms
  • Roasted Portobello Mushrooms stuffed with Lentils and Thyme topped with Slow Roasted Mushrooms
  • Terrine of Local Game served with Celeriac Remoulade and Spiced Beetroot Chutney

Amuse bouche – Christmas Spiced Butternut Squash & Cranberry Soup

  • Turkey Ballotine wrapped in Bacon with Roasted Potatoes, Onion Stuffing

    Many thanks for posting. I thought I should also explain a little more. We took over the pub in early November and have had to resolve a couple of personnel issues so as a result we have been late getting the menu out. We have a fabulous head chef cooking that day who was trained at the Savoy and has run a Michelin star chateau in France. His food and presentation thereof is amazing. We look forward to welcoming you. Alex

    • I love the idea of going out for Christmas dinner one year. We’re off down South otherwise I’d be in there. Hope you get the place full for a festive slap up meal. Looking forward to trying it out in the new year.
