Desensitisation treatment has begun to appear here in the UK but it is still something only available to a handful of lucky people. In one of my previous blogs (to read it click here) we heard how kids have been cured of their peanut allergies at Addenbrooks hospital in Cambridge.
Brett Nasuti, an eleven year old boy from America, has undergone six months of treatment for his dairy allergy; slowly having tiny amounts of dairy introduced under controlled conditions, and increasing the doses slowly over time.
His excitement on this last day of his trial is infectious; he has always had a dairy allergy so he’s never tasted milk, ice cream, cheese or had a pizza. I’m with him on the exhilaration and anticipation he must have been feeling as he waits for the final cahllenge test to be done. It’s something I dream about: eating ice cream, cheese and biscuits, ordering any dessert on the menu, a meal with a lovely rich creamy sauce, I could go on.
I’m not going to say any more or I will spoil the video.
You can watch more videos on YouTube, just search for Brett Nasuti.

Now wouldn’t that be sweet? Getting cured of just one of my allergies would be a dream come true.
Which allergy would you chose to get cured from? Would you like to have this treatment?
