One of the really nice things about writing a blog is that occasionally people send me tasty free-from stuff to try. Genius did just that this week; a parcel arrived containing two croissants and two pain au chocolate pastries. I was very upset to discover that they both contain milk so I couldn’t eat them due to a severe dairy allergy.
Now I had a few people in mind to offer these new Genius gifts, in exchange for a frank and honest review, so I put them aside. Before I had a chance to contact anyone about them I walked into the room to see husband-who-can-eat-everything just about to tuck into the croissants with lashings of strawberry jam and butter.
“Stop!” I cried. “You might not like those, they’re gluten free!” I felt it my duty to warn him, he’s not keen on the gluten free bread.
Well, if you can eat normal bread why would you?
I didn’t want them to be wasted either, if he decided he didn’t like them then the birds would probably have a #GF supper – you can’t give away half eaten gluten free goodies can you?
He carried on munching away, mouth full of croissant, and replied, “Mmmmmmm, s’OK, they’re really nice.”
Now they’re really gone!
So, I guess that’s a good advertisement for these Genius croissants.
Thankyou Genius for sending them.
Sorry Emma – They’re gone! But the pain au chocolate remain unscathed. If you’d like to try them comment below. First come first served.

I’m lactose intolerant but can have some dairy. I’d love to try them if possible, please. They sound gorgeous. The bread is nice so I’m sure the croissants and pain au chocolat will be good too.

Hi Sue, due to technical hitch, this blog post disappeared during moving what allergy to a new host and server. It’s actually from last week and the pain au chocolat went the same way as the croissants. Sorry! However, if you can tolerate dairy check them out. If people who can eat normal croissants liked them then they must be good!
