If you feel like you are desparate for help and waiting lists at your local Allergy Hospital or clinic are months and months long. Appointments and real advice and support are hard to find but there is another option. You could try your local Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).
My MP told me about this early this year when I wrote to him about my fears about the current Allergy services in the UK.
Apparently each Primary Care Trust has a PALS set up to listen to patients, their relatives and carers and answer questions and resolve concerns as quickly as possible.
PALS can also help you to make an official complaint should you wish to do so.
So don’t suffer in silence, if you are still fighting just to get some basic allergy tests done or get an appointment with an Allergy Specialist there is help out there.
There is a website https://www.nhs.uk/
You would need to contact your local Primary Care Trust for the contact details but for Buckinghamshire they are 0800 328 5640 or patientexperience.service@buckinghamshire.nhs.uk.
Not the easiest email address to remember or type but at least it’s a service we can all use.
I haven’t heard from anyone who has, any experience out there readers?
