If you have facial eczema mirrors are the enemy. Even reflective windows can show up your rosy visage in all it’s vivid horror. People with eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis have bad skin days AND bad hair days. Imagine that!
Sometimes though it’s good to remember the times between the eczema and that it never looks as bad as you think it feels or seems in your head. Mirrors are not all bad.
This is a short poem that I wrote on a bad skin day about eczema and mirrors.
I never look into the mirror. In case of what I might see. I'm always pointing the camera. So it's never looking at me. If I do spot my reflection. I'm surprised to spy. Not the horror I’m expecting. But just me walking by. There is always more to any book. Than what is on the cover. It’s not the only thing you see; There’s hidden beauty to discover. My skin is like a mirror. Revealing how I feel. I wish it was as smooth as glass. But that would not be real. Inside though I am happy. Underneath the face you meet. Contented with the life I have. Not taking a back seat. That’s all for today folks.
Watch out for mirrors and clean windows!
